Here in the office, we often talk about recognising and thanking employees and customers but what about suppliers? When was the last time you showed your appreciation to them? While suppliers are paid to supply goods and services in a timely manner, it is worth recognising those who go above and beyond the call of duty. For example: a supplier who continuously anticipates and responds quickly to your needs. Appreciation of such suppliers affirms your commitment to them and strengthens the customer/supplier relationship.
Christmas is an ideal time to consider thanking your suppliers: they have indirectly contributed to the success of your business. While this is a good strategic move, from a human point of view people always work better when someone says ‘Thank You’! Write down the names of your top suppliers and think of the most appropriate way to thank them, whether it’s a thoughtful message or a suitable thank you gift. Not only does this acknowledge their work, it also motivates them to be mindful of your needs in the coming year.
